Settling In

I am done with traveling for awhile. I loved England and worked the last week in May in Wyoming. I am anxious to get the rest of the garden in. I spent all day mowing the lawn. Between a tempermental lawn mower and the vast amount of lawn to mow, it took all day. The major problem is the lawn mower is only a 19″ walk behind lawn mower. I am looking for a used ride-on lawn mower. I really don’t want to spend my whole summer mowing.

I am anxious to get the rest of the garden in. It was beautiful and sunny yesterday, but chose to mow the lawn. Today it is raining and tomorrow it is predicted to rain as well. So it may be awhile before I get it all planted.

Interesting neighborly relationships. We have ten acres of grass (lots of dandelions actually) that was growing quite vigorously. One neighbor had already asked if he could mow and keep the grass for his horses. Since we don’t have the equipment and plans for this year, we said yes. While I was gone last week, somebody, we don’t know who, helped themselves to mowing our acreage. You can imagine the surprise of our neighbor who we promised this too and ours. So we suspect another neighbor helped themselves. They either probably thought they were doing us a favor, or hate dandelions. We feel somewhat violated, that someone can be so bold to do this. But, until we know who did this, we can only speculate the motive. Does this happen often in New York?
